Being in nature is highly valuable to quality of life and challenges perceptions of our capabilities.
Our hiking program uses the TrailRider, an innovative remote access wheelchair. With one wheel and dedicated volunteer 'sherpas' front and back you can cover any trail in comfort and safety. We have a portable lift, which we take to all hiking destinations, for convenient transfers.
Our centre of operations is at Pacific Spirit Regional Park, Vancouver, which is a beautiful and peaceful location. We also offer destination hikes that venture further afield to Metro Vancouver locations during the hiking season. We are client-driven, with participants telling us where they want to visit.
In addition to the program activities, you can rent a TrailRider for your own self-directed hike anywhere in the world for $10 per day, year round.
Where to find us
Our hiking centre is located in the Pacific Spirit Regional Park.
The 1,885-acre park, on the University of BC Endowment Lands, is a beautiful, multi-purpose recreational area. To get there, head west along W16th Ave. towards UBC. Look for a turn on the right, 400m after the Blanca St. intersection. (If you arrive on the UBC campus you've missed it!) We are located alongside the Pacific Spirit Regional Park Centre. There’s accessible washrooms and free parking.
If you are riding transit, the 25 Brentwood Stn/UBC and 33 29th Ave Stn/UBC stop within yards of the hiking centre.
Destination hikes - i.e. those to anywhere other than Pacific Spirit park - begin from a suitable trailhead. You will be informed of the start point and meeting time when you book.
