We provide opportunities for people with physical disabilities to access outdoor recreation.
Help BCMOS Keep Adaptive Outdoor Programs Running This Summer
Since 1988, the British Columbia Mobility Opportunities Society (BCMOS) has been providing inclusive outdoor adventures for people with physical disabilities — offering adaptive hiking, paddling, and cycling programs that create connection, confidence, and joy.
This year, due to an unexpected funding shortfall, our summer programs are at risk.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 to ensure that hundreds of children, youth, adults, and seniors can continue accessing the outdoors in a safe, supported, and empowering way.
How Your Support Helps:
- Funds go directly toward staffing qualified guides and instructors
- Supports over 700 outdoor experiences annually
- Keeps nature accessible for all abilities
British Columbia Mobility Opportunities Society (BCMOS) was formed in Vancouver, BC in 1988.
BCMOS makes outdoor recreation accessible to empower and inspire people with physical disabilities to re-imagine what is possible. Being in nature is highly valuable to the quality of life and challenges perceptions of our capabilities. Each summer we offer guided hikes through the Lower Mainland, and adaptive paddling in the heart of Vancouver. The centerpiece of our hiking program is the TrailRider, our own custom access-all-areas wheelchair. With one wheel, and “sherpas” back and front, it can tackle any terrain.
