Cycle

Riding a bike is healthy, fun and a low-impact form of exercise for people of all ages and abilities.

In 2022, we took our first steps to introduce a new program to BCMOS, Adaptive Cycling, operating out of our Hiking Centre at Pacific Spirit Park. The pilot program was a great success, and we brought it back in 2023. This year, cycling is now a full-fledged program during our 2025 season.

In preparation for the season, we’ve been busy adding equipment to our inventory, ensuring that we can offer more cycling excursions throughout the summer.

We now have an array of bikes suited to a variety of needs, from recumbent bicycles to handcycles and more!

SCHEDULE:

Our Hiking Centre is open every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and will be the base of operations for our cycling program.

Cycling runs around Pacific Spirit Park from Monday to Friday throughout the season, starting on Monday, May 26th, and ending on Friday, August 29th.

Cycling sessions are available at three time slots each day:

  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
  • 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

The Booking System opens on Thursday, May 15th at 9:00 AM.

Where to find us

Our Hiking Centre is located in the Pacific Spirit Regional Park (4915 W 16th Avenue).

The 1,885-acre park, on the University of BC Endowment Lands, is a beautiful, multi-purpose recreational area. To get there, head west along W 16th Ave. towards UBC. Look for a turn on the right, 400m after the Blanca St. intersection. (If you arrive at the UBC campus you’ve missed it!) We are located alongside the Pacific Spirit Regional Park Centre. There are accessible washrooms and free parking.

If you are riding transit, the 25 Brentwood Stn/UBC and 33 29th Ave Stn/UBC stop within yards of the Hiking Centre.
