Celebrating Our BCMOS Volunteers – You Make Adventure Possible!

Join Us in Celebrating You!

National Volunteer Week is coming up from April 27 to May 3, and we want to celebrate the amazing impact our volunteers make.

Your dedication, energy, and compassion are what keep BCMOS adventures rolling — and we’re so grateful to have you as part of our hiking, paddling, and cycling crew.

We’re hosting a Virtual Volunteer Celebration on Wednesday, May 1 at 4:30 PM, and we hope you can join us! We’ll recognize our Volunteer of the Year Award recipients and celebrate this year’s theme: “Volunteers Make Waves!”

🗓 Save the Date: May 1 at 4:30 PM

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

🌟 Volunteer Spotlights

Meet a Few of Our Amazing Crew Members!

Here’s a peek at just a couple of the incredible people who make our programs possible:

Alana Meyer

Alana’s journey into BCMOS began with a simple walk past Science World — and led to seasons of laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments on the water. A woodworking teacher by day and a paddling guide by summer, she brings warmth, curiosity, and calm energy to every session. From cheering on participants to sharing seals and sunshine, Alana reminds us what volunteering is all about.

Clara Scaglione

Clara joined BCMOS as a land volunteer with the Paddling Program, bringing care, calm, and a hands-on attitude to the docks. From guiding paddleboards to helping with foam supports in kayaks, she ensures every client is safe and comfortable. A future physiotherapist and current kinesiology student, Clara reminds us that a willingness to help is what truly makes a great volunteer.

“As long as you want to be there and want to help, anyone can volunteer.” — Clara Scaglione
